The Scene: The Real Women Summit

Hi folks! I am super excited to officially announce on our website The Real Women Summit. Taking place in Chicago June 26-28, 2009, the Summit is all about "uniting, strengthening and revolutionizing" the plus size woman in America!

"The 1st Annual Real Women Summit will be held June 26-28th, 2009 in Chicago, IL. The Hyatt Regency O’Hare will host the event, and the weekend will be packed with excitement! The itinerary for the weekend includes workshops, motivational speakers, an expo, discussion panel, fashion show and so much more! Rates for the summit include accommodations (hotel stay and exquisite food), fashion show, discussion panel entry, four workshop opportunities and so much more. Rates range from $350 to $575, depending on the number of women lodging per room. This summit will be memorable, life changing and ground breaking for both the plus size community and the rest of the world. It’s time for the real woman to stand up and take her place, and The Real Women Summit will be the torch to spark that growth."

The Summit's Founder, Miss Kimberly Dale, also recently announced that plus models Christina Mendez and Sonya Renee, as well as poet Tamara Blue (of Def Poetry Jam fame) and singer/songwriters SpqHer

have just signed on to be the Summit's Official Spokeswomen.

Belle-Noir Magazine is so proud to be part of the Summit and will be hosting some pre-summit events in 2009 in support of this fabulous event!
