The Scene: Events for Your Curves

As most of you are well aware, the 2nd Annual Full Figured Fashion Week™ is getting ready to take over New York City June 16-19, 2010. Tickets for many of the events are selling fast, so be sure to check out http://www.fffweek.com/ and purchase tickets today! Besides the Semi-Formal Finale, there are workshops for aspiring plus business owners, The State of the Curvy Community panel discussion, an aspiring plus model panel discussion, and a NYC shopping tour being hosted by Comedian Erica Watson and The Curvy Fashionista Marie Denee.

The event that has all of the curvy community a buzz for 2011 is The Curvy Revolution. A weekend dedicated to the fuller woman in mind,

The Curvy Revolution™ (TCR) is the premier, largest, and most dynamic convention for plus size women hosted by the nation's largest plus size organization, Full Figures in association with Skorch Magazine (US's Leading Plus Size Fashion Mag), French Plus Company "Ma Grande Taille", and plus size modeling agency, House of Curves.

The 1st Annual Curvy Revolution is an interactive event experience built to celebrate, inform, and inspire plus size women while connecting with companies, brands, and supporters that are beneficial to the every day woman through mainstream mediums. TCR brings together plus size women of many different backgrounds, classes, and ethnicities to Las Vegas annually united in a celebration of themselves. Held at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip, TCR will utilize workshops, celebrity discussion panels, a charity gala, an exhibition, The Miss Curve Competition, a star-studded fashion show and most of all, EMPOWERMENT to uplift the curvy community. One of the major features of the weekend is the Diva Swap, an event where ladies bring their unworn or gently used clothing and swap them out with other divas to add new flair to their wardrobe and donate to charity!
President/CEO of The Curvy Revolution, KeKe Dillard discussed the upcoming conference as: "This is not an Event, it is an EXPERIENCE!"

Look for more information and interviews with the key players in The Curvy Revolution right here on Belle-Noir soon! In the meantime, check out http://www.thecurvyrevolution.com/ for more information on registration and the package deals they have for the weekend.

The International Fuller Woman Expo is coming back to Detroit September 18, 2010! No longer the silent majority, the fuller figure is the demographic in society that everyone is talking about. Strides are being made in all facets of society to incorporate women of size.
The 2010 International Fuller Woman Expo will take place at the Westin Book Cadillac in Downtown Detroit. We will celebrate this time in history by bringing together businesses and loyal consumers from across the world who share our mission of positive imagery and social relevance in today's society.

Actress and Comedian Kim Coles has already signed on to be the Keynote Speaker for this year's event! For more information, please visit their website at  http://www.thefullerwomanexpo.com/2010_fuller_woman_expo.

Hi Eve!

The problem should be fixed now. Please let me know if it is not. Otherwise, you can email me at aja@belle-noir.com. I never considered starting a separate email for FGI. I just might though.

Thanks! :o)

So many plus size events happening... I so would love to attend FFFweek but albeit I cannot. Hope to make The Curvy Revolution event though! Should think about setting something up on this side of the pond in Europe, we sure do need something like this over here!
